Parkside (SA), SA

By Lauren McCaleb · Reviewed by Dylan Duncan ·

Parkside is a leafy inner-southern suburb of Adelaide, lying just beyond the southern park lands within the City of Unley. Bounded by Glen Osmond, Greenhill, Unley and Fullarton roads, it sits within easy reach of both the city centre and the Unley Road shopping and dining strip. Its post office opened in 1859 and was later renamed Eastwood. The suburb is well supplied with green space: the largest of its reserves, Howard Florey Reserve, sits on the corner of Fullarton Road, while Henry Codd Reserve and McLeay Park are mostly fenced and dotted with playgrounds, making them popular with young families. Glen Osmond Road is also home to the internationally touring Slingsby Theatre Company.
