Bull Creek (WA), WA
By Lauren McCaleb · Reviewed by Dylan Duncan ·
Bull Creek is a suburb of Perth in the City of Melville, lying just south of the creek that shares its name, which flows into the Canning River. The Whadjuk Beeliar people knew the wetlands here as a seasonal source of food and fresh water, and the area is recorded under the name Gabbiljee, said to mean watery place at the end of the river. The creek was named after Henry Bull, an early settler granted nearby land in 1830, though much of the suburb sits on a larger grant made to Thomas Middleton. On Bull Creek Drive stands the Aviation Heritage Museum, run by the RAAF Association of Western Australia. The suburb has its own station on the Mandurah railway line and sits close to Murdoch University.

Not yet scored
We’d rather leave these open than publish a number we can’t stand behind. Here’s where each one stands.
- Amenities & accessNot scored yet — our OpenStreetMap amenity mapping is still rolling out across suburbs.
- Green spaceNot scored yet — our OpenStreetMap green-space mapping is still rolling out across suburbs.
- TransportNot scored yet — our OpenStreetMap public-transport mapping is still rolling out across suburbs.
- SchoolsNot scored yet — school performance (ACARA / ICSEA) needs a data-reuse licence cleared before we can publish it.
- SafetyNot scored yet — Australia has no single open crime dataset and safety data carries defamation and legal care, so it is gated pending a go/no-go and will be data-only when added.
- CommunityNot scored yet — we won't reduce community to a number from a proxy. We'd rather leave it open than publish an invented value judgement.
